Patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle traveling erratically on Route 34 westbound, Oct. 6 at 2:42 a.m.
After stopping the car, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests to Carlos Constante, 43, of 746 Baldwin St., Waterbury, who was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to maintain a proper lane.
Constante was released after posting $50 bond, for court Oct. 22.
Police responded to Route 34 near Dogwood Road on a complaint of an erratic driver Oct. 6 at 8:29 p.m.
Patrol officers found the vehicle on Dogwood Road, and had the driver, Amos Gray, 42, of 157 Bull Hill Lane Apt S-3, West Haven, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.
Gray was subsequently taken into custody and charged with DUI, failure to maintain a proper lane, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle and misuse of marker plates.
He was held on $500 bond, for court Oct. 8.
