With Tuesday night’s 95-79 Southern Connecticut Conference victory over Xavier, the Amity boys swim team improved its record to 7-0.

The meet was held at Wesleyan University’s Freedman Athletic Center Pool in Middletown.

Dylan Swanepoel led the way for the Spartans as he won both the 100 yard freestyle and the 200 free. His winning times were 49.45 seconds and 1:46.01. Swanepoel also joined Jamie Huang, Jacob Laser, and Sam Guerra for a winning time of 1:34.64 in the 200 free relay. Laser posted a first place 23.20 in the 50 free.

Jamie Liang’s 56.81 was tops in the 100 butterfly. Guerra chipped in with a blue ribbon  5:04.02 in the 500 free and Charlie Pite’s 2:07.25 was good for a victory in the 200 individual medley.

The meet began with the Amity foursome of Stephen Cheung, Liang, Pite, and Huang taking first place in the 200 medley relay. Their winning time was 1:45.96.

As usual, with his Spartans holding a commanding lead over the Falcons, Coach Todd Rainey chose to have his team swim exhibition in the meet’s final three events.

Amity hosts Branford on Tuesday, January 29th in a 7:30 p.m. SCC meet at the Orange Community Center Pool.
