It is 2013 and winter is here. During the Orange County Fair and Carnival, CERT had set up a table to ask Orange residents to “adopt a fire hydrant,” which entails helping by shoveling out and around the hydrant to aide the fire department in case of fire. Many responded with great enthusiasm, and it was greatly appreciated.
CERT member Lisa Hartshorn would like to thank all of you that volunteered to help shovel. If any residents of Orange had not signed up and you would like to, or if you’re already shoveling your local hydrants, please let her know by sending an e-mail to either [email protected] or [email protected].
“I will need to know the street you live on and the general area of the hydrant you are shoveling or would like to care for this winter,” she said. “Again, thank you to the Town of Orange residents for helping out in this cause.”
