The  Orange Police Department held a swearing in ceremony for its newest Lieutenant on Friday morning, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m.

Nineteen year veteran Dennis Anderson was sworn in by Police Commission Chairman Donald Lewis at Police Headquarters in front of family, friends and co-workers.

Lt. Anderson holds a B.S. in Justice and Law Administration from Western Connecticut State University. He joined the OPD in 1994 and was assigned to the patrol division.  He held the rank of Sergeant from 2003 until present.

Lt. Anderson was assigned to the Investigative services unit in 2003 as a patrolman and again in 2009 and 2013 as a Sergeant.

He is the recipient of the Department’s exceptional service award.

Lt.  Anderson will command of the Midnight Shift.
