Following is a press release from the Orange Community Women:

Orange Community Women (OCW) collected town-wide donations at VideoLab, 200 Boston Post Road (Next to New England Ballet) twice last year with great success. Below is a thank you note from one soldier who received a care package from the Fall effort.

Dear Mrs. Griest,

I wanted to take the time to thank you and your organization for the loving and thoughtful packages sent to me and my platoon this holiday season. I know the gifts, hygiene items and entertainment will be most appreciated as things begin to close down for the winter season. We’re located on a small FOB without many options or means of getting the basic necessities, so the Soldiers (as well as myself!) are more than appreciative when they receive these thoughtful items. I know some of them definitely needed what you all sent to us! When your daughter  mentioned that you wanted to send us something, I didn’t imagine so much! Thank you again for spreading some Christmas cheer to us all here in Afghanistan! Merry Christmas, God Bless and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Very Respectfully,

Hannah

Your Chance To Help

Paying it forward, OCW and VideoLab would like to thank the town’s people for their donations which made this possible.  And, we decided to do it again for the month of April.

Donations can be dropped off at VideoLab/Davis Gallery, 200 Post Road in Orange in the decorated collection box daily from 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm.   Orange Community Women will package the items and forward them to deployed soldiers overseas.

Please include only small, light-weight personal care items for men and women, no food items.  Items in need are (but not limited to):  lip balm, sun block SPF 30+, hand & foot cream and body lotion, Gold Bond powder, liquid hand soap (preferably sanitizing), emery boards, nail files, tweezers, facial cleansing pads, large baby wipes, Kleenex packets, Q-tips, Lotrimin and Tinactin.

Also, black and white tube athletic socks, mole skin & blister packs, gel insoles for boots, toilet paper, dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, disposable razors (especially Mach III), panty-liners, shower shoes (flip flops), pens, stationary, postcards & greeting cards to send to their families, journals, crossword puzzle books, and word game books.

And don’t forget, International phone cards, i-tune cards, and donations for postage will also be accepted. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

If you have the name and address of a deployed soldier who would like to receive a care package, please leave that information at VideoLab as well.  No guarantees, but we will ship as the supply allows.
