A Cubscout from Pack 922 salutes the flag at today’s ceremony.

Cub Scout Pack 922 of Orange, CT was invited to participate in this year’s Maplewood of Orange Veterans Recognition Ceremony held in Orange on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Cub Scouts Benjamin Cap, Yarik Zabel, Timmy Cap, and Grayson James; Cubmasters Jeff and Vicky Cap; the American Legion Post 127; and VITAS Hospice Care escorted the veterans from the assisted living facility to their seats at the start of the ceremony.

The scouts also assisted with the honor guard parade and posting of colors, along with a great job of properly retiring the flag of the United States.

Also in attendance were Orange First Selectman James Zeoli, State Rep. Paul Davis, and Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne.

Cub Scout Pack 922 is chartered by the Orange Volunteer Fire Department. Pack 922 meets once per month as a pack and has several fun and exciting activities planned for the pack each and every year.

If your son is interested in joining cub scouts (grades 1 through 5), you can visit Pack 922’s website at www.OrangeCTscouting.com for additional information and to e-mail Cubmaster Jeff Cap.
