Eunice was born on August 2, 1921 in West Haven, CT. She is predeceased by her parents Grace and Harry Burrell, her brother Bill Burrell and her sister Lavonne Tokarczyk.
She owned Eunice’s Beauty Salon in West Haven and later worked at State Farm Insurance.
Eunice proudly served as a WAVE in the US Navy during WWII as an aviation machinist 3rd class.
Eunice will be especially remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved NY Mets.
Eunice will be truly missed by her loving daughters, Gail (Jim) Yacavone of Prospect, CT and Marlene (Steve) Hunt of Orange.
She was the devoted grandmother of Steven and Lauren Hunt and James, Jr. and Adrianne Yacavone. She is also survived by her nephews Alden, Jr. of Florida, Kevin Peck of California, Glenn Burrell of West Haven, Tom Egan of Berlin and two nieces.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, Sept. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St., West Haven, where Eunice’s funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Yale New Haven Hospital – St Raphael campus.
