The Town Plan & Zoning Commission heard the following during Tuesday night’s public session at its regular monthly meeting.
*APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION, PERMIT OR USE, Submitted by Barbara Thomas for property known as **350 Boston Post Road. The proposal is to locate a ‘Smoothie King’ retail store/beverage establishment with a ‘drive-thru’ service window. Also proposed is a service counter and take out service. (Sections 383-50 A., E., F., and Article XIV of the Orange Zoning Regulations). A SITE PLAN APPLICATION has been submitted.
The Bank had a drive thru so that wouldn’t change. The traffic pattern wouldn’t change. The owners would add a menu board and speaker.
Smoothie King is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The busiest times of day at its other locations are 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.
The interior of the building would be remodeled and will have 8-10 seats. Also will sell snacks and supplements (like a GNC) but mostly Smoothies.
Commission Chairman Beau Clark requested that all safety signs be shown on the site plan (something he and Mr. Glazier worked out together.)
After some discussion, the Commission unanimously granted the application.
