The Amity Board of Education is actively searching for the next superintendent for the Amity Region 5 District. The Board recently engaged the services of Cooperative Educational Services Executive Search Team, a well-respected agency from Trumbull to assist in the process. Last year, the Amity Board conducted a comprehensive search, but chose not to hire a superintendent at that time. In doing the previous search, valuable feedback was obtained from all of the stakeholders in the Amity community. The focus groups and on-line survey that were performed have provided valuable data regarding both the community’s vision for Amity’s future, and the characteristics the community would like to see in the new superintendent.
Now it is time to update that data. The Amity Board of Education and the C.E.S. Executive Search Team invite the Amity Community to participate in a short online survey to update the data and comments obtained during the previous search. The survey will be available via the Amity web page and below to the Amity community from Wednesday, October 23rd through Wednesday, October 30th inclusive.
“Finding the right superintendent to lead our schools in these rapidly changing times is of critical importance to the continued success of our students,” said Amity Board Chairman, William Blake. “We have heard and understand the comments of those who are anxious for the new superintendent to be placed. The process of interviewing candidates is by its very nature a confidential and private endeavor. All of the candidates hold responsible positions elsewhere, and are very concerned about maintaining the confidentiality of their application. While we cannot inform you of the candidates we are considering, rest assured that we are devoting full energies to this search. We thank you for your understanding and continued support of educational excellence in the Amity schools.”
