Screen shot 2013-11-06 at 12.43.10 AMHere are the results of the Orange Municipal election. The winners are bolded and marked with a √. These are preliminary numbers and are not official until posted with the Secretary of State.

The Board of Selectmen remains the same, except that retired selectman Joe Blake will be gone and Democrat Ken Lenz, who garnered enough votes to win a seat on the board will “take his place.”

About 46% of the town’s registered voters came to the polls on Tuesday.

One close race was within the Amity Board of Education with Sue Cohen defeating Judy Primavera by a mere 2 votes — this may force a re-count.

  1. Thank goodness Jim Zeoli beat Lentz

  2. Unless there’s another race here calling for a recount, I believe the challenger may choose to concede. Then a recanvass isn’t necessary. If a candidate for any other office qualifies to demand a recount, then all questionable races get recounted.
(It’s a semi-regular event in Bethany. Gets us off the hook for audits, though.)

  3. Thank you voters, Orange is safe once again

  4. We know this was an emotionally charged election, but please don’t post mean spirited comments here. Orange Live has many High School Student followers and watching adults acting out does not set a good example. This is not the daily newspaper where we thrive on how many comments we can get. Freedom of speech is one thing, but nastiness and disrespect will not be tolerated.
    Thanks so much.
