Screen shot 2013-12-20 at 4.47.22 PMBette O. Zuraw, 85, of Orange, formerly of Ansonia and beloved wife to the late Stephen C. Zuraw, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2013 at Lord Chamberlain, in Stratford.

She was born on March 11, 1928 in Ansonia to the late Joseph and Mary Evancavitch Nester.

She loved the ocean and the beach, was an avid reader, knitter and crafter, a major league Yankee fan and had an incredibly sharp wit. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her family and she was loved by all her knew her.

Bette is survived by her loving children, Raymond Zuraw and his wife Vicki Grant of FL and Diana Rauch of Orange; five beloved grandchildren, Laurén, Michael and Bryan Rauch, Natalie Zuraw Paskewitz and her husband Clint and Amelia Zuraw; three great grandchildren, Kaden, Daniel and Amarae Paskewitz; and her daughter-in-law, Cathy Zuraw. In addition to her parents and husband, Bette is predeceased by her son, Stephen D. Zuraw, her grandson, Stephen F. Zuraw and her son-in-law, Dr. Robert Rauch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21st at 1:00 pm at Holy Infant Church, 450 Race Brook Road, Orange, CT 06477. Interment to be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bette’s name to the American Heart Association Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or to the American Cancer Society , 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
