Police were called to the Burlington Coat Factory, 80 Boston Post Road on a report of a shoplifter who resisted store security’s attempts to detain him on Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
During the investigation, officers learned that Kenneth McKay, 31, of 71 Elizabeth St., New Haven, had taken $134.93 worth of items from the store shelves and left the store without paying.
Store security employees attempted to stop McKay but he pushed them out of the way and fled.
Orange police officers found McKay a short distance away, where he was taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny and third-degree robbery.
He was held on bond for court Dec. 17.
