I know that the late Carmine Negri, a long-time fan of Orange’s premiere New Year’s Day Road Race, was smiling down on today’s Chilly Chili Run as his 27-year-old daughter Victoria was the first female to cross the finish line at 21:14.92.
For the guys, Calvin Park, 18, of Trumbull led the entire pack at 16:19.15 with a pace of 5:16.
The first Orange resident, Connor Dunleavy, 19, came in third at 17:07, just .29 seconds behind Matt Klein, 19, of Trumbull.
Rounding out the top 5 men were Travis Vooten, 17, of Riverhead, NY and Daniel McCabe, 19, of Orange.
Right behind Negri was Leanne Beedle, 19, of Bethany, at 21:30.86 and behind her by 7 seconds was Annalisa Paltauf, 30, of New Haven.
Rounding out the top 5 women were Nicole Semanchik, 34, of Milford and Chelsea Krombel, 26, of Wallingford.
In the 90 and over group that George “Doc” Whitney made popular, his longtime, friendly rival Bill Tribou, 93, of Granby came in first in his category at 45:56.26, followed by Don Osborne, 92, of Branford at 64:20.15.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this race. The roads were dry, but the below freezing temps made it less than pleasant for many of you I’m sure.
