DSC_0023Amity’s Chloe Brinton and Cheshire’s Missy Bailey tied for highest point makers in SCC Housatonic Division Game in Cheshire.

The Lady Spartans won its 9th consecutive game of the season on Friday taking the lead in the first quarter  with Elsie Graham scoring 6 six points and Mikaila Schmitt with 5. The first quarter ended 15-12 – Amity.

Amity came out strong in the second with Cheshire’s Emily Inzero making a 3-point goal and Jill Howard with two free throws  and Kya O’Donnell scoring 10 points, helping boost the Rams to within two points of the Lady Spartans 33-31.

The third quarter saw Chloe Brinton score 8 of her 18 game points for Amity, which included a 3-point goal and three foul shots. Third period score 48-33.

Cheshire really rallied in the final quarter coming within a 3 point deficit 50-47 with 6:23 left in the game with a lot of help from Ciara Haensel. Unfortunately, with just 1:49 remaining,  Bailey suffered a ankle sprain on a driving layup. Amity kept on it’s excellent team play and was victorious 60-54.
