police carToday’s wintry weather has kept the Orange Police especially busy, primarily responding to fender benders and other traffic related incidents. But one call was incredibly important.

(Heard this on the scanner)

An elderly woman left her home at a facility on Indian River Road on foot to “visit a friend” on Old Tavern Road.

Staff at the facility became concerned about her welfare and called police.

All the information officers had was that she went in an “unknown direction” and was wearing a red coat.

After searching for her in the 32-degree snowy conditions, an officer located her — safe and sound — and gave her a ride back to her home on Indian River Road.

Thank you Orange Police for a job well done.
