military-funeral-flagRobert A. Mukoda, 79, of Upper Deerfield Township passed away following a brief illness on Monday morning March 31, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center in Elmer.

Born in Los Angeles, CA on September 25, 1934, he had been married for nearly 52 years to Darlene S. (nee Mitsui) Mukoda.

He was predeceased by his parents, Yukiji and Shizuko Ikada Mukoda.

A longtime resident of Seabrook and Upper Deefield Township, he had lived at his current residence since 1973. He was a 1954 graduate of Bridgeton High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

As a lithographer, he worked at the former Price Brothers Lithograph in Bridgeton and later at Duro-Lith in Millville and finally at Litho Print in Wilmington, DE before retiring.

A member and former officer of the Seabrook Chapter of the JACL, Mr. Mukoda served on the board of directors. He was also a member of the Deerfield Presbyterian Church and the church’s Worship Committee.

As a real sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching any and all sporting events and especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, David M. Mukoda (Tammy) of Wilmington, DE, Tim J. Mukoda (Bobbi) of Colorado Springs, CO, Patricia L. Reyes (John) of Waldwich and Stephanie M. Dragan (Bill) of Orange, CT, ten grandchildren, three sisters, Alice Kazaoka (Mas) of Bridgeton, Kiyomi Miller of Marlton and June Wallace of Albany, NY and one brother, Ray Mukoda (Sue) of Bolivia, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held in New Jersey on Saturday April 5.
