2013 file photo lacrosseThe Amity Boys Varsity Lacrosse (LAX) Team shows a lot of promise this year.

Coach Brandon Pepe, who took over the program last year, is lauded by players and parents alike as one of the best. A coach who will listen to his players and value their opinions.

Pepe gave Orange Live this team outlook for the season which officially begins today, Wednesday, April 9 in West Haven at 4 p.m. :

“Last year, we had a successful season ending 9-7, and qualifying for the CIAC state playoffs before losing in the first round to the eventual State Champion, Fairfield Prep. This year expectations are high as we return much of our talent from last season,” Pepe said.  “Only 3 varsity contributors were lost to graduation, and there are 19 returning players from last year’s varsity roster, including 14 seniors. The entire coaching staff has returned, with some great additions as well. We expect to be at the top of our conference (SCC), and earn a top seed in the Class L CIAC tournament.”
