628x471Residents who’ve heard about proposed changes for establishing an Indian tribe has many Orange residents feeling uneasy.

Anyone living in the area about two decades ago will remember how their property was jeopardized when an Indian tribe attempted to receive recognition and “take what was rightfully theirs.”

This Wednesday, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro will host a discussion on the Draft Proposed Changes by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to the procedures for establishing an American Indian Tribe.

The meeting will take place in the main meeting room of the Woodbridge Town Hall, 11 Meetinghouse Lane at 5:30 p.m.

If you would like to attend, RSVP to District Director Jennifer Lamb at 203-562-3718 or at Jennifer.lamb@mail.house.gov.
