Police Commission Chairman Donald Lewis, Police Chaplain Father Robert Deming, and Officer Matthew Crainich

The Orange Police Department recently welcomed three new officers to the force.  Matthew Crainich and Jeffery Fernandes both completed the field training process last month, and are presently working in the patrol division.  Willie Roberts graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy on March 24th, and is currently in the field training process.

Matthew Crainich – Born in Bridgeport and raised in Trumbull, CT.  Graduated from Trumbull High School, and then from Western CT State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.  He was formerly employed at Cartus Inc. performing I.T. work.

Jeffery Fernandes – Born and raised in Waterbury, CT.  Graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, and then from UCONN with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.  He was a former driver for Campion Ambulance Services.

Willie Roberts Jr. – Born and raised in Waterbury, CT.  Graduated from Wilby High School, and then from UCONN with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  He was formerly employed as a substitute teacher, a school bus driver, and was a pharmacy technician at CVS.  He has achieved Eagle Scout and has served as a volunteer and mentor for Anderson’s Boy’s Club of Waterbury and for Waterbury Youth Services.
