Purple Relay Balloons float around a supporter’s mailbox on Grassy Hill Road.

The Relay for Life Committee introduced the Paint The Town Purple program this year. For just $5, supporters received a purple mylar balloon, tied to his or her mailbox today.

All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society through the BOW Relay for Life.

The inaugural year often is tough for any program, but we hope that next year Orange will see a sea of purple instead of the splashes of color that is out there now.

The Committee thanks everyone for their support.

The 2014 BOW Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, May 31 through Sunday, June 1 on the Orange Fairgrounds.

So far 54 teams and 334 participants have raised $27,168.
