IMG_8434The 12th seeded Brien McMahon Senators came into the first-round state tourney game against fifth-seeded Amity with a winning attitude and determination to move onto the second-round. They kept the Spartans on their toes, well aware that it was anyone’s game. 
Initially, McMahon led Amity 2-1, but then by the end of the first Quarter the Spartans took the lead 3-2.
The Senators had a strong second quarter, earning 4 goals, and at the half the score was tied 6-6.
Moving along, the third quarter saw Amity  ahead 8-7 and then the Spartans took off in the final quarter with 3 goals to McMahon’s 1 — Amity scoring their final goal with just 26 seconds left in the game, defeating McMahon 11-8 and advancing to the second round.

McMahon   2 – 4 – 1 – 1 – 8
Amity outshot McMahon 27-22.
#12 Brad Uscilla was the game’s high scorer with 4 goals; followed by #18 Ajay King with 3 goals; #2 Jake Milner made 2 goals and  #25 Nick Coassin added 1 goal.
#10 Joe Choiniere, Milner and #9 Tyler Burns had 2 assists, while #21 Dave Buono and #33 Matt DeLizio each had 1 assist.
Terrence Descences made 2 goals; Mitch Bartolo, Lars Hammer, James Campbell, and Harold Garica made 1 goal each. (provided information is incomplete — this adds up to 6 goals when in fact McMahon had 8 goals).
Amity – #13 Evan Campbell made 10 saves; McMahon’s Josh Miller made 6 saves.
