After the victory, coach Brandon Pepe was proud of his team. “This is the first time Amity has gotten into the semi-finals since 2003. And this was our 15th win. 15 wins is the most since 2003 as well,” he said.  “The 2003 team lost in the state championship back when lacrosse had two divisions determined by playing ability. Now there are 3 classes L, M, and S which are determined by size of the school.”
He added, “Class L (which we are in) is the most competitive across the board, so to get this far is really an accomplishment in itself, but we are not done yet. We told the boys on the first day of practice that they had the chance to be the best team in the history of the Amity Lacrosse program, and it was something that resonated with them. We are well on our way.
