Screen shot 2014-06-11 at 2.53.38 PMPasquale “Pat” Corso, 87, formerly of Hamden, died June 8, 2014 at Maplewood of Orange after long illness.

He was the husband of Gloria Bellucci Corso.

Pat was born in Hamden, July 5, 1926, the son of the late John and Elsie Bontempo Corso and resided in Hamden all his life. He graduated Central Conn. State Teachers College with a masters degree and Bridgeport University with his 6 year. He taught in Bridgeport for 5 years and transferred to Michael J. Whalen Jr. High School, the year it opened, retiring in 1984, when he received the Teacher of the Year Award.

He was a US Marine, serving in Guam during WWII and was a member of the Hamden Veteran Council for 10 years.

He was past president of the Hamden Legislative Council, elected to the council for 10 years, and was a member of the Water Pollution Control Auth. and the Hamden Lions Club.

Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carol Miller of Branford, sons, Bruce (Cindy) Corso of Fredericksburg, VA and Martin Corso of Murrietta, CA., brother of John “Jack” Corso of Hamden & the late Helen Tiddei,and 6 grandchildren, Pamela Miller, Taryn, David, Isabella, Spencer and Daphne Corso.

Funeral with military honors will be Friday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden an at St. Ann’s Church at 10 o’clock. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Constalation Health Care, 240 Indian River Rd. Orange, Ct. 06477
