According to the report, the man who filed the complaint stated that he was talking to a friend in the parking lot when the woman’s husband, Avelino Munoz, 38, of 5 Greta Street #316, West Haven, arrived and began punching him, then chased him around the parking lot with a baseball bat.

The complainant was able to get into his own car and drive to the police department.

Police said Munoz had his two young children in his car during the altercation. He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault, breach of peace, second-degree threatening and risk of injury to a minor.

He was held on $5,000 bond for court June 12.
