Obituary HartLouis Francis Hart, 82, of Bristol, died June 11 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the husband of Mary C. (Dunne) Hart. Born in Hartford, CT he was the son of the late William and Mary (Donahue) Hart of West Hartford. Lou and Mary raised their family in Bristol having lived there for the past 54+ years.

He was a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford, attended Trinity College before joining the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean War on the USS Mindoro before earning an honorable discharge.

He was a devout man of faith, an avid sports fan, a great fisherman and a keen observer of life. He loved a good joke and cherished the time he spent with all of his family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years and his five children, Brian F. Hart and his wife Gail of Overland Park, KS, Kevin J. Hart and his wife Gina of Orange, Gary E. Hart and his wife Gayla of Ft. Worth, TX, Sharon E. (Hart) Saravia and her husband Roger of Bristol, CT, and Sean P. Hart and his wife Wendy of Chester. He was very proud of his grandchildren; Courtney, Connor, Cameron, Chelsea, Michael, Colin, Kathryn, Olivia, Victoria, Marcos, Grace and Sarah. His brother Dr. William E. Hart and a grandson, Brennan Patrick, predeceased him.

He leaves behind his two sisters, Marjorie (Hart) Conley and Elaine (Hart) Burke.

Lou was a member of the CT. Historical Society, American Legion Post 2 and Korean War Veterans Association based in Bristol, CT.

All services will be private per Lou’s simple request.
