Orange Post 127 shut the door early on Milford, capturing a 14-2 victory on Saturday at Ken Walker Field (at Foran High School)
With seven runs in the first three innings, Orange Post 127 left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run double by Anthony Capozziello and a wild pitch in the first inning and an RBI single by Chris Winkel, a fielder’s choice, and a steal of home by Winkel during the second inning helped Orange Post 127 put some runs on the board early.
It was a good day at the plate for Orange Post 127′s Winkel. He went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs.
Milford couldn’t get anything going so long as Mike Appel was on the hill. Appel held Milford hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four.
Adam Antonini ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
