IMG_2734A ninth-inning Senerchia double spelled defeat for Orange Post 127, falling 4-3 in walk-off fashion at the Firecracker Invitational Baseball Tournament at the University of Rhode Island on Thursday (8:15 a.m. game).

With the score tied at three in the ninth inning, Brady Chant came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Ed Markowski.

Josh Sabitsky had a hot bat for Orange Post 127. S went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

Doug Rives pitched lights out for Orange Post 127. Rives held Senerchia hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.

Senerchia ‘s Kevin Sutyla got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed one run over 4 1/3 innings. S struck out none, walked none and gave up five hits.

Orange’s Eric Class was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Senerchia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sutyla got things going for Senerchia with a single.

Senerchia scored two runs of its own in the ninth.
