Screen Shot 2014-07-07 at 9.46.18 PMAfter a serious double header beat down on their home field yesterday, the East Haven Legion Team wanted revenge over Orange Post 127, and that’s just what they got in a 5-4 win at Brinley Field on Monday night.

Baseball fans braved the humidity to cheer on their teams and the boys on both sides worked hard to win this battle.

Orange’s Eric Class pitched the first five innings during which he struck two out, walked five, and allowed five runs.

In the first inning, East Haven’s Chris Affinito singled, then Mike Levine’s ground out moved Affinito to second and the scored on a single by Bryan Kushaski, which ended the first inning 1-0.

Orange responded with three runs in the third. They scored on Chris Winkel’s RBI single, then an RBI single by Matt Ronai and finally Gerald Ferace’s RBI single. The inning ended with Orange on top 4-2.

East Haven came on strong in the fourth inning scoring one of three runs on Mike Levine’s RBI single and fielder’s choice plays (this term refers to a play in which a runner is able to advance a base due to a choice made by the defense.)

Sebastian DiMauro had an excellent game. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh.

He pitched the last two innings during which he struck out two, allowed one hit and walked one, but he denied East Haven any earned runs.

East Haven’s Tom Moore pitched to the win tonight. He struck out one, walked two,  gave up seven hits and allowed four runs over seven innings.

With this loss, Orange Post 127’s record dropped to 11-5.
