Josh Sabitsky slides safely into home plate in the fifth inning.

Orange Post 127’s first matchup with North Haven was a fast-moving 7 innings with Ross Weiner throwing a 4-0 shut out at Brinley Field Tuesday night.

Weiner pitched a shutout, struck out six and allowed no runs on three hits.

North Haven’s pitcher lasted six innings, struck out three, walked two and allowed four runs

In the second inning Orange scored a run on Josh Sabitsky’s sacrifice fly.

Sabitsky started out the fifth inning with a double on a line drive to right field. He advanced to third on a sacrifice fly by Matt Ronai. Then scored on a wild pitch with Mike Appel at the plate.

In the sixth inning, Jake Russo scored on Ronai’s double to left field. Then Ronai scored on Devin Belenski’s double to left field, securing Orange’s 4-0 win.

The score would have been higher, but Belenski was tagged out as he slid into home plate.

Post 127 improved its season record to 12-5.
