Many residents will remember hearing the horrific reports of an accident on River Road in Shelton last Sept. 7, when a 22-year-old girl in a minivan collided with a motorcycle carrying 2 Orange residents at around 9 p.m.

It’s been more than 10 months since the accident that changed Sam Seeley’s  life forever.

He lost his wife, Ramona, 54, who died from her injuries on Sept. 10, leaving him and their 4 adult children to grieve and heal together.

Sam, who worked for AT&T, was taken to the hospital with serious “non-life threatening” injuries. He lost his leg in the accident.

Sam was known for his ZZ Top beard, his close, fun-loving relationship with his wife, and his great personality.

If you didn’t know Sam before, hopefully you feel like you do now.

Organizers are planning a fund-raiser to help Sam with his mounding bills.

The event will take place at the Orange Ale House, Sunday, July 13 from 4-9 p.m.

Tickets are now available. The suggested $20 donation includes a buffet, one free glass of wine or draft beer, raffles, etc. All proceeds go to help Sam.

The Orange Ale House, 517 Boston Post Road and Pawn King784 Boston Post Rd, Milford have tickets.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. To save a little, reserve your tickets by e-mailing [email protected] – include your name, phone number and how many tickets you need, then pick them up at the door for $20.

This is a shout-out to all businesses and individuals who would like to help with ticket sales, raffle donations, and set up.

The Organizers send their thanks to those who’ve donated items for the raffle including Jim at Kaoud Oriental Rug, John at Knight’s, Jason at NuVita, New York Pop Artist Michael Albert, Off The Hook Bar and Grill, Stratford, Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, West Haven,  Silver Sands Pizza, Milford.

Call Ron at 203-446-6948 or Terri at 203-506-1747  for tickets, to volunteer or for more information.
