Screen shot 2014-08-11 at 3.16.04 PMOrange resident Kim Syrop, senior vice president of fraud mitigation and loss management of Webster Bank, has been named Investigator of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators.

This award recognizes a non-law enforcement financial crimes investigator for investigative excellence of financial crimes, outstanding service and dedication towards meeting the goals and objectives of the IAFCI.

At Webster, Syrop has oversight of fraud prevention strategies and operations, overdraft servicing, fraud investigation and recovery efforts throughout the bank’s four-state footprint.

She has been instrumental in leading the bank’s loss management team and has spearheaded a year-long initiative to raise awareness about financial abuse of seniors.
