The Amity Spartans have a fast, talented team this year with many returning players, including Anthony Uscilla (16), Mac Deane (22), Jeremy Cable (14), Tyler Cole (30) and Tyler Johnston (31) to name a few.
On Monday, the boys went up against the Wreckers from the Staples-Weston-Shelton regional team with Goalie Tyler Cole from Orange at the net throughout the game.
Staples was first to score at 11:44 in the first period. Jesse Greenspun (14) on assists from Ryan Johnson (11) and Sam New (19).
Coming out in the second period, Staples’ Johnson quickly scored in the first :35 seconds on an assist from New.
Amity answered at 10:06 with Jeremy Cable smacking one in past Goalie Zack Bloom (30), on assists from Nicholas Gallucci (11) and #12 (name?)

Staples came out strong in the third period too, with Johnson sneaking in a goal in the first :48 seconds — again assisted by New.
They followed that up with two more goals at 2:56 — New, assisted by Johnson and Billy Hutchinson (13) and 9:03 (Hutchinson, assisted by Sam Zaritsky (52) and New).
Amity fought back with a second goal at 12:00, scored by Jamie Blum (17), assisted by Michael Miller (9) and Zach White (13).
The Spartans lost this one 5-2.
