Screen Shot 2016-08-21 at 4.41.19 PMOn Aug. 12, Noah Tarifi, 38, of 602 East Slope Dr, Orange, surrendered himself at police headquarters at 10:15 a.m. after learning of a warrant for his arrest.

According to police, the warrant stemmed from a series of incidents in late 2015 and early 2016 when the Tarifi was accused of stealing checks from a family member and cashing them, obtaining more than $9,000 for himself.

He also used a credit card belonging to the same family member to purchase more than $13,000 worth of merchandise, which he then sold for cash.

An arrest warrant  charging two counts of criminal impersonation two counts of first-degree identity theft, first-degree forgery, two counts of second-degree larceny, credit card theft and illegal use of a credit card was issued and served at police headquarters.

Tarifi was held on $35,000 bond for court Aug. 15.
