Police said the warrant stemmed from a traffic stop in May of 2015, when Monique Morales, 28, of 155 Bungay Rd, Seymour, presented another woman’s driver’s license as her own to the police officer that stopped her.
That officer issued a ticket for the traffic stop, which went unpaid. The unpaid ticket resulted in the innocent person’s license being suspended.
When the license owner learned what happened, she reported it to police, and investigation determined that Morales had presented herself as someone else in order to evade responsibility for the traffic ticket.
An arrest warrant, charging criminal impersonation, third-degree identity theft and interfering with a police officer was issued and served as listed above.
Morales was released after posting $1,000 bond, for court Aug. 25.
