Thomas Conrad “Tommy Tsunami” Reynders of Golden, CO, passed suddenly on February 22, 2017. He was 47 years old.
Tommy is survived by his parents, John and Charlotta Reynders of Harwich Port, MA; his three siblings, John L Reynders of Apple-ton, WI, Alison Elliott of Milford, CT, Katharine Lumpkin of Alpharetta, GA and many nieces and nephews. Tommy was born on Feb. 19, 1970 in Orange, CT to John and Charlotta Reynders.
He graduated from Amity Regional High School and attended two years at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA. After leaving ODU, Tommy moved to Puerto Rico to teach windsurfing and finally to Colorado where he remained.
Tommy was a beautiful person and artist. He loved music, nature, windsurfing, snowboarding, water sports, and more. His favorite pastime was the many hours spent tubing on Clear Creek with friends.
His talent and artistic eye allowed him to work with local musicians as a lighting and stage technician. He worked as a handy man doing landscaping, tiling, carpentry and home restoration.
Tommy enjoyed life with a youthful enthusiasm. He shared a friendly, authentic smile with all who crossed his path. He was known for his kind words of those who surrounded him and leaves a community grieving his early departure.
He was a fixture in the Golden community and supported musicians, shop owners and the local artists. He will be most remembered for his generous spirit and the many improvements to homes and properties in and around Golden, Colorado.
Loved ones held a memorial service on February 26 for Tommy following his death. His body was cremated and his ashes will be spread in the many places he loved.
