Orange Live will be raffling off a lighted 16″ “Gingerbread Lighthouse” on a 16 X 20″ base for $2 per ticket. All proceeds will go to the Orange Food Bank.
The Lighthouse, which was made during a 26-hour period from an original design, received rave reviews at the Orange Holiday Festival and would attract attention wherever it goes on display.
It can be shellacked and preserved for the future.
We are happy to be able to offer this piece to the Orange Community and hope you will help us raise a sizeable contribution to the Orange Community Services Food Bank.
The Lighthouse will be on display at Maplewood of Orange during its Festival of Lights tonight from 4-7:30 p.m. and Wednesday evening at Material Girls Boutique for its Holiday Girl’s Night Out from 5-8:30 p.m.
The drawing will take place on December 12.
If any other local businesses would like to display the Lighthouse to assist in ticket sales, please call Terri at 203-506-1747.
NOTE: Although constructed completely of edible items, we suggest that the Lighthouse be used for display purposes only. The recipe used is for a Structural Gingerbread, which makes it very strong – like plywood – and tasteless. The Royal Frosting is probably stronger than Gorilla Glue and contains raw egg whites.
