What happens when you put two powerhouse basketball teams together on the court? You are treated to a phenomenal game.

That’s what we witnessed at Amity High School on Tuesday evening as the Lady Spartans hosted the Guilford Indians.

The teams were tied 9-9 in the first quarter then Guilford sprinted ahead in the first half of the second quarter leaving Amity 6 points behind, but nay nay, Amity Coach Michelle Shoop would not have any of that. The Lady Spartans tied the score again, pulled ahead and at the last minute Guilford scored another two points ending the first half at 21-19.

The third quarter belonged to Amity which trounced its guests with 16 points to a mere 2 points by the Indians. Third quarter score: 35-23 Amity.

After that The Indians could not catch up to the Lady Spartans, both teams played well in the final quarter, but it was Amity to the end with a 48-34 victory.
