Orange had a bit of an adventure on Saturday afternoon when a pony got loose in town, sending its owners and a band of helpers scrambling to catch it and bring it home.
One resident on Avon Drive investigated her dog’s incessant barking and was surprised to see a pony grazing on the front lawn.
After the discovery, she saw a group of people come and coax it into returning home with them.
Another resident who’d spotted the pony nearby at around 2:45 p.m said nothing surprises him anymore. “That’s Orange for you. It’s a rural area and people have goats, sheep, chickens, llamas, cows, and horses,” he said. “Sometimes they get loose. I’m glad that little guy didn’t get hit by a car or anything.”
