The Super Plunge is a Penguin Plunge event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut on March 30 and 31 in Westbrook. A select group of individuals will plunge every hour for 24 consecutive hours to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Connecticut athletes.
Penguin Plunges give participants an opportunity to come together with friends and other warm-hearted individuals in their community to have fun and do good. Participants jump into the chilly waters of a lake or ocean in an exciting, festive atmosphere and earn great incentive prizes by raising money online to support Special Olympics’ year-round sports, health and fitness programs for people of all abilities.
Well, for one, Orange Police Officer Denny Peterson, who is a town captain for the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
“I’m taking part in a Super Plunge at the end of March. I have to raise $2,400 by March 30th,” Peterson said. So far, he’s raised $2,205. Click HERE for his page to donate and help him reach his goal before the deadline in a couple of weeks.
The community is invited to join our brave Super Plungers for the Final Plunge at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 31.
