The Orange Scholarship Fund Association is pleased to offer, among its scholarships, the Ashley Krakowski Scholarship, in the amount of $3,000.00, to be awarded to an Orange graduating student intending to pursue a career in a healthcare field.
Scholarship criteria include financial need, academic achievement, community service and leadership roles in organizations and activities.  Application deadline is Monday, April 15th.
The application may be obtained at the Career Center at Amity Regional High School or http://orangescholarshipfund.com/
Background: The promising life of Ashley Krakowski, 19, of Orange, ended tragically on June 13, 2009, when (former) Milford Police Officer Jason Anderson slammed into her car at a speed in excess of 90 MPH while he was returning from the scene of a bar fight in West Haven — there was no need to return to the station in a hurry.
Both Ashley and her boyfriend David Servin, also 19, died at the scene.
Ashley had just completed her final Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) test and was planning on studying to become a nurse. David was studying to be a social worker.
The scholarship will be awarded at the annual June meeting.
