Conservation Commission Seeks Volunteers for Trail Cleanup at Ewen Preserve

Fall is a great time for hiking and enjoying the Open Spaces of Orange. To enhance that experience, the Orange Conservation Commission (OCC) has scheduled a Trail Cleanup Day at Ewen Preserve (GPS address: approx. 648 St John’s Drive) for Saturday, October 24 from 9 am to 11 am (rain or shine).

The OCC is asking for volunteers to join Commission members in this effort to do some light maintenance work of clearing the trails of litter and small branches.

Volunteers will gather at 9 am at the St John’s entrance and we will work in small groups, maintaining social distance, water will be provided.

Volunteers are asked to wear face masks and bring gloves and hand tools such as pruning shears, branch loppers, and rakes. It also suggested that volunteers wear long pants and bring tick spray
