With the legislative session in full swing, State Representative Pam Staneski (Milford & Orange) is asking her constituents for feedback on the issue of tolls being installed on Connecticut highways.

CT Toll booths were torn down after a fatal accident at the Stratford Tolls in 1985.

“There has been discussion about re-instituting tolls on our state highways. Soon, the Transportation committee will be hearing public testimony a on toll proposal. I also want to hear from the constituents in Milford & Orange on what your thoughts are on bringing back tolls to our state highways. I strongly value your feedback on this important transportation issue,” said Rep. Staneski.

To fill out the survey go to: http://cthousegop.com/119th-district-survey/

You may also access the survey by visiting Rep. Staneski’s website www.repstaneski.com.

As always, if you have any thoughts or concerns you’d like Rep. Staneski to be aware of, contact her office direct at 800-842-1423 or email at Pam.Staneski@housegop.ct.gov

Riverdale Road Residents Do More Than Just Decorate For The Holidays

209 riverdale driveFor many years, 209 Riverdale Road was known as the “airport landing strip” during the holidays. The tastefully lit home was even chosen among the top 5 in a nationwide contest for holiday lights 3 years ago.

Now, even though all the rage is how many tens of thousands of lights one can use, Peg and Ed continue to keep it simple and classy and urge donations, but not monetary donations to fund their electric bill.

They are seeking donations of non-perishable food to help stock the Orange Food Bank at High Plains Community Center.

If you are out and about checking out the local light displays, including Lincoln Road (which takes donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) be sure to bring a couple of canned goods or packaged items to drop off in the box in front of 209 Riverdale Road.

The food bank helps Orange residents whom you may not even realize are in need. They could be your friend or neighbor or a classmate. This is the season for giving, so join this family in giving back to the community.

So far they’ve collected more than a dozen items, but certainly would like to have much more to present to Community Services before the holiday.
