To consider and act on the proposed contract between the Town and the Dispatchers Union  -  Labor Counsel Michael J. Dorney, Esq

Unanimously approved

 

To consider and act on the request from the Lion’s Club to waive the customary rental and janitorial fees for their Annual Thanksgiving Dinner scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2013 at HPCC (enclosure) – Ann Carollo, Secretary – Orange Lions Club

NOTE: This dinner is available to seniors and others who don’t have any other place to go for Thanksgiving. Get your reservations in at the Orange Community Services ASAP so the Lions will have enough turkey and fixings for everyone.

To consider and act on the request to approve the bid for snowplowing services (enclosure)Stephen Savarese, Director of Public Works

This was to approve a couple of extra contracted snow plow drivers to help keep the roads clear this winter in the event of another monster snow season like 2012.

To consider and act on the request to approve the bid for sodium chloride (rock salt)(enclosure) Stephen Savarese, Director of Public Works

The cost is $52.46 per ton (lower than last year)

To consider and act on the request to approve the bid for professional services consultant selection – architectural services (enclosure) – Stephen Savarese, Director of Public Works

This is work on the South Wing of High Plains — The meeting rooms in the long hallway.

To consider and act on the request to approve the Schedule of Regular Board of Selectmen meeting for 2014-2015 (enclosure)

They are all scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month

To consider and act on the request from the Orange Players to waive the customary rental fees for the theatrical production “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at HPCC(enclosure) – Marianne Miller, Orange Players

Tickets are $20. Call 203-988-5335 for the box office. All agreed that they put on excellent performances.

To consider and act on the request to approve the tax refunds totaling $4019.44(enclosure)     

None of the selectmen was on the list.

Town Seal

With the Orange Business and Community Expo and everything else in which busy residents participate, it is refreshing to see a really light agenda for the Board of Selectmen’s Wednesday evening meeting at 7:30 p.m.  at Town Hall.

To consider and act on the request to approve Rainflower Spa as a massage establishment – Youwen Feng (Wendy)

To consider and act on the request by Yale to rename Frontage Road -Scott Strobel, VP West Campus Planning and  Program Development

To consider and act on the approval of a vending license for July 7th firework show (enclosure) – Howard Dragonoff

To consider and act on the request to approve the second phase of the proposed repair and remediation of damaged historic culvert
