BasketballThe Lady Spartans Basketball Team stepped onto the court in Wallingford with the same drive and spirit as they have all season long. This was a big game, going against Lyman Hall, whom they had defeated 37-35 in their last matchup, for the SCC Housatonic Division title.

Coming off a 16 game winning streak, the girls never took anything for granted. They fought for every point and demonstrated that great Amity “there is no I in TEAM” way of competing that their fans have grown to appreciate all year.

In the third quarter, Senior Chloe Brinton hit her milestone 1,000th point for the Spartans. She led her team with 13 points in this game.

Mikaila Schmitt scored 9 points, followed by the Graham sisters (Janae and Elise) and Amanda Vecchio each with 8 points.

Records: Amity 17-2; 7-1 division — Lyman 16-3; 7-1 division

So, which one of these teams made it into the top 10? Although Amity’s season record is better, both teams are tied for the division. We all will have to wait to find out.

Snow has postponed the celebrated Senior Night from Thursday night to Friday night at 7 p.m. Come on out on Valentine’s Day and show them some Love.
