IMG_9163On Saturday, May 7, the Amity Boys Lacrosse Team hosted New Milford in Woodbridge at 10 a.m.

The score was tied 3-3 in the first quarter, then the Spartans took off making 5 goals to the Green Wave’s 1.
Amity kept up the momentum in the third quarter with 3 more goals, both teams rounded out the game with 1 final goal each.
The Spartans poured over the Wave, winning this one 12-5.

Amity: Mike Cavanagh 2, Tyler Vincent 2 goals and 2 assists, Sam King 2, Anthony Uscilla had 1 goal and 1 assist, Ian MacDonald had 1 goal and 2 assists, Adam Cusano 1, Mikey Pretlove 1, Ryan Rattley 1, Mark DellaTorre 1, Mike DeVito had 1 assist.
New Milford: Liam Alexander made 3 goals and Nate Capriglione made 2 goals.

The Amity Boys Lacrosse Team welcomed The William Hall Warriors from West Hartford to Woodbridge for a competitive game on Monday.

The Spartans were “on” leading in the first quarter 2-1.  The Warriors tied things up in the second quarter 3-3, then Amity lit it up scoring 5 more goals in the third, which was enough to put them over the top and both teams scored 2 goals in the final quarter.

Amity won their fourth game of the season — 10-5.

Anthony Uscilla was the game’s high scoring player with 3 goals and 1 assist. Ryan Rattley made 2 goals. Mike Cavanagh made 1 goal and had 2 assists, and Adam Cusano, Tyler Vincent, James Cofrancesco, and Sam King each made 1 goal.
Rounding things out, Ian MacDonald had 3 assists and Mark DellaTorre had 1 assist.
Hall’s  Spencer Witter made 2 goals, and Kevin Carr, Chris Monnes, and Griffin Smith each made 1 goal.
Amity Outshot Hall 39-21
Goalkeeper Matt Perrotti made 10 saves for the Spartans; Harrison Newman made 16 saves for the Warriors.

IMG_9293The Amity Spartans Boys Varsity Lacrosse team took on the Shelton Gaels at Amity on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans took a quick lead in the first quarter (2-1) then fell behind in the second quarter (2-3) but after the half it was smooth sailing with three goals to Shelton’s 1 (5-4) and then ultimately enjoying their second win of the season (7-4) with an additional two goals in the final quarter.
Amity 2-0-3-2 = 7
Shelton 1-2-1-0 = 4
How they played: 
Tyler Vincent was Amity’s top scoring player with 2 goals. Mike Cavanagh, Ian MacDonald, Sam King, and Anthony Uscilla made 1 goal each.  Mark DellaTorre had 1 goal and 1 assist. Paul Buda had 1 assist.
Jake Brighindi was Shelton’s top player with 2 goals.  Nick Pavone and James Botti each made 1 goal. Kyle McGinnis, Carlos Maldonado, and Connor Greene had 1 assist each.
Amity outshot Shelton 30-21.
Amity’s goalie Matt Perrotti made 11 saves.
Shelton’s goal keeper Tim Schiffer made 14 saves.
Records: Amity 2-0, Shelton 0-2
The boys will be home again next Friday for a game at 4 p.m.

The Amity Boys Lacrosse team took on Hamden today for their first game of the season, and really put themselves out there.

The Spartans took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
