Applebee-s-Logo31Applebee’s Grill & Bar restaurants in Connecticut, upstate New York, and Pennsylvania is offering discounts, events and perks to thank those who have served or are serving during the Month of May in honor of “National Military Appreciation Month.”

Beginning Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 31, servicemen and women who dine at participating Applebee’s restaurants will be honored with the following:

  • 10 percent discount: retired and active duty military can enjoy a discounted price on all meals, excluding tax, gratuity, gift cards and other discounts.*
  • Armed Forces Day Celebration on Saturday, May 16:every restaurant location will offer free cake and coffee to retired and active duty military and their families from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Random Giveaways: as another way to say “thanks,” every location will offer random giveaways, including food, beverages and other perks.

“We are excited to offer even more ways of showing our thanks and gratitude in this second year of celebrating military service during May at our Applebee’s locations,” said Stephanie Griffin, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “We encourage all veterans and active duty military that visit us in May to identify themselves as having served so that our managers can personally thank them for their service.”

Applebee’s patrons and military personnel can participate in the Military Appreciation Month offerings throughout the month of May in Orange and at the following Connecticut Applebee’s restaurant locations: Danbury, Plainville, Groton, Torrington and Mansfield.

Since 2009, Applebee’s locations nationally have served nearly six million free meals to veterans and active duty military members on Veteran’s Day. Applebee’s also began recognizing U.S. veterans and active duty military service members in 2011 with the launch of its national “Thank You Movement,” a program that encourages people to show their appreciation for members of our Armed Forces on Veterans Day. Since launching the program, Applebee’s has received more than 2.5 million personal “thank you” messages through the“Thank You Movement” website.

*Proof of service is required to receive the 10 percent discount. Acceptable identification includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
