According to the report, officers learned that Mark Moreau, 32, of 85 Beers St 2nd floor, was detained at the Meriden Courthouse on an unrelated matter.

Orange police brought Moreau back to headquarters to be served with an arrest warrant.

The warrant stemmed from two incidents where he reportedly wrote checks to pay for merchandise at the Ocean State Job Lot store. Both checks were returned by the bank due to insufficient funding.

Moreau was charged with two counts of issuing a bad check and sixth-degree larceny.

He was held on bond for court July 16.
