south sea logoThe South Sea Grill at 200 Boston Post Road has been open since December 2014, so it really can’t be called the new kid on the block, yet diners are only now discovering how good it is.

Owner Charlie Leroux opened the restaurant, offering fresh seafood and American classics soon after the Redfish Grill closed its doors without warning.

Business was good, but even though the location was highly visible from Route 1, it wasn’t packed every afternoon and evening as every restaurant owner dreams.

The South Sea Grill has a fine wait staff, trained to be friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Jody, Spy, Maria and Emily know the menu and can recommend dishes that customers will surely love.

The children’s menu contains the same, reasonably priced selections that will keep the kids happy and make parents comfortable that their little ones are eating real food and not junk. Where else can you find fish and chips (containing fresh cod) for only $6.95?

South Sea Grill is open for lunch from 11-3

Note: The balsamic pomegranate dressing is light and tasty

Dinner is served from 3-10 p.m.

The dinner menu contains more of a selection, including rib eye steak, prime rib and chicken dishes. And don’t forget the weekly specials.

Among the customer favorites, according to the staff, are the seafood trio, lobster roll, twin lobsters, stuffed sole, and whole belly clams.

He is dedicated to the success of the restaurant and works countless hours behind the scenes making sure everyone has a wonderful dining experience at South Sea Grill.

On May 4, Charlie hired “Nick” to manage the restaurant and he immediately began coming up with ideas to attract new customers.

Happy Hour and the Bar

Men and women can feel comfortable there at happy hour, between 3:30-6:30 p.m., and later at night with a couple of intimate tables in the back, large booths in which to sit and chat or dine on the $5 bar specials — 8 ounce burger, spring rolls, chicken quesadilla or steamed mussels.

You can watch television on the two big screen TVs and take advantage of Nick’s $15 Mimosa Special.

The Mimosa Special is available Monday-Thursday. For $15 you get “bottomless” Mimosas (limit 5).

If you haven’t tried the South Sea Grill yet, what are you waiting for? One-by-one your neighbors and friends are learning about this treasure, hidden in plain sight at 200 Boston Post Road, across from Orange Fence.

Bring your clients there for lunch, stop by for dinner and tell Nick that Orange Live sent you.
