Orange Police served a warrant on a Department Of Corrections inmate who appeared in Derby Superior Court,106 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on April 15 at 10:15 a.m.

The warrant stemmed from a burglary in February of 2019 when the arrestee, identified as Christopher Dahlinger, 27 of New Haven, and an accomplice stole the ATM machine from the Courtyard Marriot Hotel on Marsh Hill Road.

The investigation led to the issuance of a warrant charging Dahlinger with second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Dahlinger was arraigned in court that day.

BEST-POLICE-Patch-EVER-275x300Orange Police went to Derby Superior Court to serve a warrant on a West Haven man who was appearing on an unrelated matter on Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.

According to the report, Eric Dingus, 36, of 133 Forest Rd, West Haven, was wanted on a warrant stemming from a burglary at the Grid Construction Company, 156 Boston Post Road, in June, where tools valued at a total of $6,530 were taken from the business.

Dingus was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

The warrant was served at court and arraignment was immediate.

Police responded to a burglary complaint at the Walgreens Pharmacy, 54 Boston Post Road on Dec. 24 at 7:40 a.m.

Officers met with the store manager, who stated that the store was forcibly entered during the previous night, and multiple cartons of cigarettes were taken.

Surveillance video captured the incident, which occurred around 5 a.m.

The Orange Police Investigative Services Unit is investigating.

BEST POLICE Patch EVERBurglary and Fire investigation

Police were dispatched to the Cuzzocreo property on Edison Road after the fire department responded there for an active fire Nov. 2 at  7:34 p.m.

When they arrived, officers learned that there was an armoire and a lawn mower on fire, and hat the armoire had been removed from a construction trailer on-site.

The rest of the trailer appeared to be ransacked, although nothing appeared to be missing.

Police Blotter Logo thx DaveOfficers responded to a complaint of suspicious activity inside a vacant building on Bull Hill Lane, Aug. 8 at 5:37 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found that two Milford teens had forced entry into a former retail store building, and then gave conflicting stories as to what they were doing inside.

Collin Moran, 18, of 55 Nicole Drive and Brendan Hallett, 18, of 807 New Haven Ave., were both taken into custody.

Moran was charged with possession of burglar tools, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass.

He was released on a promise to appear (PTA) in court Aug. 22.

Hallett was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass.

Original Orange Live Post at 9:34 a.m.: Amity High School is/was in lockdown this morning as a precautionary measure as Woodbridge police investigated a home invasion/burglary around Route 67.

This morning, at approximately 8:45 am, the Amity Regional High School administration received a report of an alleged incident in the community. The initial report indicated a residential burglary. Due to the proximity of the alleged incident, Amity Regional High School sheltered in place by bringing in PE classes, double checking to ensure all doors were locked, and restricting hall passes for students. At 9:35 am, we received an “all clear” from the Woodbridge Police Department. The school returned to normal operations.

Orange Police are investigating a burglary on Ridge Road reported  on Tuesday, Oct. 16 around 5:42 p.m.

Investigation revealed that a dark colored hatchback vehicle with an unknown Delaware registration plate was seen in the area at the time.  The vehicle was being operated by a thin Hispanic female with long dark hair.

According to police, a Hispanic male with a dark moustache and curly hair, wearing dark colored shorts, ran from the residence to the vehicle.

Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Orange Police Department Investigative Services Unit at 203-891-2138.

Residents are asked to be vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Orange Police Department at 203-891-2130.

The Orange Police Department is investigating a commercial burglary which occurred at 3 a.m. on Wednesday Oct. 10 at the Orange Ale House, 517 Boston Post Rd.

According to police, CCTV cameras captured the suspect breaking a rear window of the establishment and gaining entry.

The suspect is described as a middle aged, thin white male with curly hair and glasses.  The male wore a winter jacket, jeans and a New York Yankees Baseball cap.

According to the report, an undetermined amount cash was taken.
