A family left their dog, Mika, with their uncle on Knight Lane while they went on vacation.

Last night, Wednesday, Aug. 1, Mika, a 7-pound black mini pinscher ran away around 4 p.m. He was spotted near Narrow Lane and Burning Tree (?)

The extended family searched until dark and again this morning but to no avail.

A resident saw a Facebook post about the dog and said she saw him on Burning Tree where it meets Forest Road. (This would be in the Greenbrier Roads area near Grassy Hill) — Someone suggested that they may have meant Burnt Plains Road in Milford where it turns into Forest Road.

Mika LIVES in Milford and may be trying to make his way home. so everyone in Orange and Milford, please be on the lookout for him.

Everyone, please keep your eyes open for this tiny runaway. His family is so worried about him that they cut their vacation short and are driving home.

Whatever you do, drive carefully, it’s hot and miserable, he’s scared and probably looking for his family. Let’s get him home before the weekend.

If you see him, please respond to this post on Facebook and we will update the story, or call the Orange Police at 203-891-2130, or Milford Police at 203-878-6551.

UPDATE: Residents reportedly saw him on Woodruff Road yesterday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. heading towards the direction of the Post Rd.

“He was running on the side of the road. I stopped to try and get the dog to no avail. He was smart enough to stay out of traffic.”
